KINGSTON UPON HULL CITY COUNCIL AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS 2010/2011 NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT OF DATE FOR EXERCISE OF PUBLIC RIGHTS Audit Commission Act, 1998 Accounts and Audit Regulations, 2003 NOTICE is given that the District Auditor has appointed 16th August 2011 as the date on or after which local government electors for the area of the Kingston upon Hull may exercise their rights under regulation 14 of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2003, and section 15 and 16 of the Audit Commission Act 1998, to question the Auditor about or make objections to the accounts for the year to 31st March 2011 at 2nd Floor, Kenworthy House, George Street, Hull, HU1 3DT. The District Auditor is Mr. M. Kirkham, Audit Commission, Room 205, Crosskill House, Mill Lane, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU17 9JB. Any person interested may inspect, and make copies of the accounts of the Authority for the year ended 31st March 2011, and all related books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts from 18 th July to 12th August 2011, (Mondays to Fridays) between 9.30 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. The accounts and other documents will be available for inspection at the Corporate Finance Offices, City Treasury Building, Guildhall Road, Kingston upon Hull, HU1 2AB. Notice is also given that on or after 16th August 2011 at 10.00 a.m. until the completion of the audit, that Auditor will, at the request of a local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate, give the elector or their representative an opportunity to question him about the accounts, and that any such elector or their representative may attend before the Auditor and make objections as to any matter in respect of which the Auditor could take action under Sections 17 or 18 of the Audit Commission Act, 1998 (namely an unlawful item of account, failure to bring a sum into account, or a loss or deficiency caused by wilful misconduct), or could make a report in the public interest under Section 8 of the Act. No such objection may be made unless the Auditor has previously received written notice of the objection and the grounds on which it was made. A copy of this notice must be sent to the Director of Corporate Resources, City Treasury Building, Guildhall Road, Kingston upon Hull, HU1 2AB.
